The Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration has requested information on potential vendors that can provide information technology consulting, engineering and application architecture services for the office of information technology’s customer engagement and development division.
TSA said in a FedBizOpps notice published Friday potential contractors will work to support efforts to update application systems at CEDD through the adoption of open-source architecture, cloud management, Agile software development and anything-as-a-service or XaaS.
Other technical requirements that TSA seeks include the removal of vendor lock-in, simplification of technology stack, data consolidation and reduction in application footprint.
According to the notice, TSA plans to acquire such services as part of its effort to adopt Agile IT approaches and in support of the federal government’s Mobile First and Cloud First initiatives.
Responses to the notice are due on Dec. 1.
