Orbital ATK has launched a jointly-owned subsidiary in Saudi Arabia in a move to help the country fulfill its national security, defense and training goals.
Riyadh-based Alliant Techsystems Operations will develop local systems for efforts to help Saudi companies build up their capabilities, Orbital ATK said Thursday.
“This new Saudi company reflects our long-term commitment to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a strong ally of the United States,†said Mike Kahn, president of Orbital ATK’s defense systems group.
Orbital ATK did not disclose the identities of other partners in Alliant Techsystems Operations.
Orbital ATK announced the subsidiary in the same week it unveiled the formation of another separate joint venture in the United Arab Emirates (click here for our coverage).
Salman Al Malik will serve as CEO of Alliant Techsystems Operations and Amer Kayani has been appointed chairman of the Saudi subsidiary’s board of managers.
“Our team in the kingdom is committed to working with the Saudi government and other local partners to develop business opportunities that sustain long-term jobs for Saudi nationals in the defense and security sectors,†said Kayani.
