Ray Harris, chief information officer at Iron Bow Technologies, has said that most corporate CIOs focus on the operational aspect when purchasing and managing information technology systems in an effort to leverage the Internet of Things.
Harris advised CIOs to conduct pilot testing of IoT-based projects to determine their capabilities before they launch large-scale programs, Iron Bow’s TechSource blog reported Thursday.
He told the online forum that corporate equipment with sensors will work to provide IT companies opportunities to bolster their data collection and analysis efforts.
Harris said today’s CIOs should also identify the business requirements as organizations start to migrate to cloud services.
