Iridium NEXT satelliteIridium Communications has chosen Arion Communication to be a distributor of Iridium’s mobile satellite communication products and services to government, military and commercial clients across South Korea.

Arion also seeks to offer South Korean businesses a global machine-to-machine connectivity through the NEXT satellite network, Iridium said Thursday.

The companies’ reseller agreement covers Iridium’s OpenPort broadband service, Go! portable hotspot device, Extreme handset and Short Burst Data service.

The NEXT satellite constellation, slated to launch this year, will work to deliver enterprise-grade communication coverage globally.

The network is designed to support data speeds of up to 1.4 megabits per second per single user terminal.
