Knowledge Consulting Group has secured a $29 million contract for the second task order under phase 1 of the Department of Homeland Security program to implement continuous diagnostics and mitigation tools, Federal News Radio reported Monday.
Jason Miller writes that KCG will oversee the rollout of McAfee‘s Vulnerability Manager and ePolicy Orchestrator, ForeScout‘s CounterACT and Splunk‘s big data analytics offering to the DHS network.
According to the report, the award notice by DHS and the General Services Administration stated that the program aims to “fill gaps” in the department’s CDM capabilities.
“The continuous monitoring concept has been around for a while, and the CDM program has a specific level of requirements,” Matt Brown, KCG vice president for homeland security, told Federal News Radio.
“Continuous monitoring was the same but now you have consistency and standards with DHS defining what it means to be CDM compliant.”
Miller reports that GSA received 10 proposals on the current contract for task order 2A.
The agency has also scheduled the bid validation period for task order 2B through April 1, while the bidding on task orders for Groups C through E are paced over the next few weeks until early May, the report said.
KCG’s contract is the first of seven awards for the implementation of tools and services under the CDM program, Miller writes.
