James Pyon is vice president for the cloud solutions and services practice at CGI Group‘s U.S. federal market subsidiary, a role he has held since he joined the company in August 2012.
Pyon has worked to help CGI Federal obtain a provisional authority to operate certification for its cloud offerings under the Federal Risk Authorization and Management Program.
Before CGI Federal, he served as a senior program executive at Lockheed Martin, where he oversaw the delivery of surveillance platforms and other technical products for a Department of Homeland Security-run program.
He also managed the cloud computing and cybersecurity portfolio within Lockheed’s global telecommunications business and worked in a chief engineer role at the company’s maritime security and infrastructure unit.
Pyon’s background includes work in program management, business process re-engineering, defense architecture and systems development, intelligence, finance, telecommunication and public services.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from West Virginia University and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton.
