General Dynamics’ new mission systems unit showcased its naval portfolio at this year’s Surface Navy Association National Symposium in Arlington, Virginia.

Chris Marzilli, president of the unit, said Monday the restructured group aims to strengthen GD’s targeted technology, service and other product offerings for its defense clients.

General Dynamics created the mission systems unit through a combination of the advanced information systems and C4 systems units.

The company is involved in a variety of work for the U.S. Navy, including as ship integrator for Austal’s joint high-speed vessels and the Independence variant of Littoral Combat Ships.

The SNA booth will demonstrate several of the company’s technologies such as the afloat forward staging base, digital modular radio, open computing infrastructure and high-speed encryptor.

Program representatives will be on hand to provide updates on the Arleigh Burke and Zumwalt-class destroyers, LNG containerships and offshore patrol cutters.
