Wayne Lucernoni, president of Harris information technology services, has indicated that the business unit is working to establish its presence in the market beyond the company’s telecommunications brand, the Washington Business Journal reported Monday.
Jill Aitoro writes that Lucernoni pointed to current campaigns in the healthcare and intelligence sectors and efforts to streamline bidding for future projects.
Lucernoni said Harris’ IT services unit aims to focus on building operational excellence through consolidation, particularly in the Washington region.
“We did the same as everybody else, de-layering management, reducing executive headcount where it made sense and reducing spending in those areas that didn’t have the strongest potential,” he told the publication.
He said the business is working toward organic growth rather than pursuing many acquisition opportunities.
