Louis Berger has received a multi-year contract from the New York City Economic Development Corp. to support business recovery and infrastructure resiliency programs following Hurricane Sandy.
The company said Monday it will also assess the potential impact of post-hurricane rebuilding initiatives on the city’s economy as well as cultural and environmental resources.
“We look forward to collaborating with NYCEDC to help the local communities and businesses recover and rebuild to meet the climate challenges of the future,” said Tom Lewis, group president at Louis Berger.
NYCEDC works on behalf of the city government to implement and manage projects designed to boost disaster resilience of neighborhoods, infrastructure and establishments.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has provided $1.7 billion in community development block grants to help fund hurricane recovery efforts in NYC.
