Computer Sciences Corp. and VMware will collaborate to develop an infrastructure-as-a-service platform intended to help enterprises automate, manage and secure applications in cloud environments.
The companies aim to integrate CSC’s Agility cloud management platform with VMware’s suite of software-based computing, storage and networking technologies, VMware said Tuesday.
CSC also plans to leverage VMware-made vSphere, NSX, Virtual SAN and VCenter Log Insight data center architectures as the foundation of CSC’s OpenStack cloud strategy.
Gary Budzinski, executive vice president and general manager of global infrastructure services at CSC, said the OpenStack-based IaaS platform will be designed to meet customers’ information technology governance and security requirements.
Raghu Raghuram, EVP of VMware’s software-defined data center division, added the partnership also seeks to help businesses identify new market opportunities as well as improve operations through SDDC technology.
