Vormetric has extended its data protection technology business into the Australian and New Zealand markets in an effort to help more government and enterprise clients avoid cybersecurity problems.
Damian Harvey, a former Oracle sales leader, will lead Vormetric’s A/NZ operations as country manager, Vormetric announced Friday.
Harvey holds two decades of experience in sales management and has worked with the Royal Australian Corp of Signals on encryption projects.
“Data is the new currency. Whether you’re talking personal records, credit details, medical records, blueprints to a proprietary device – data is valuable to criminals and other actors,” Harvey said.
“As a digital economy and society, we urgently need to adopt a ‘data-centric’ model and move away from the illusion that perimeter security is working,” he added.
Vormetric’s A/NZ business seeks to help organizations comply with data privacy rules and safeguard network perimeters from advanced persistent threats.
The company builds enterprise security platforms for virtual, physical and cloud computing environments.
