Washington, D.C. businessmen Russ Ramsey and Ted Leonsis have been named chairman and vice chairman of the nonprofit organization campaigning for the 2024 Summer Olympics in the capital region, the Washington Business Journal reported Tuesday.
Greg Otto and Douglas Fruehling write that DC 2024 announced its intention to bid for the Olympics in August.
Ramsey heads Reston, Va.-based private investment company Ramsey Asset Management and Leonsis is co-founder of the $450 million D.C.-based Revolution Growth fund.
