Teradata has worked with Brazil’s national police agency to deploy a new analytics platform for border security operations.
The platform is based on the Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse tool and the agency aims to use the platform to manage traffic on federal highways, the company announced Monday.
Brazil President Dilma Rousseff has made it a priority for the country to install new cameras, an automated intelligence office for identifying vehicles and data integration tools under the “Alerta Brasil” agenda.
Teradata’s system is built to use statistical analysis, data mining and predictive algorithms for monitoring nearly 38,000 miles of roads.
The police agency also seeks to bolster its anti-drug efforts by using Teradata’s platform and to monitor cargo theft, smuggling and embezzlement.
