VMware wants university researchers to participate in the company’s fourth annual data center automation competition with a prize of a $150,000 grant up for grabs, Cloud Pro reported Friday.Â
Jane McCallion writes that researchers for the 2014 Academic Research Awards are being asked to explore matters related to scalable machine learning, algorithms, design patterns, data intensive services and multi-tenant infrastructure management for data intensive applications.
The company will fund the winning researchers initial funding for one year with a possible extension.
Initial submissions are due March 17 and chosen proposals will be announced May 27, the report said.
