Raytheon has conducted demonstrations on a GPS platform’s operational control technology before a group of industry representatives and Pentagon officials.
The company said Friday GPS OCX is a ground-based system that works to control the movement of GPS satellites and protect the equipment from potential cyber threats.
The test, which included the system’s software, was made to evaluate GPS OCX’s capability to provide jam-proof military signals, M-Code and capacity for users to detect and respond to cybersecurity risks.
Dave Wajsgras — president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services unit at Raytheon – said the demonstrations for GPS OCX with the actual software sought to validate the company’s progress on the project.
The company said it currently performs hardware installation work for the Block 0 Launch and Checkout System at Shriever Air Force Base in Colorado.
LCS is a component of the OCX platform that works to support the launch of GPS III satellites.
