Cisco has introduced a second version of its IOx fog computing platform in an effort to help enterprises implement Internet of Things, 365 Cloud Technology reported Saturday.
IOx is designed to allow Linux and other third-party operating applications to run on Cisco-built network architectures, according to 365 Cloud Technology.
The article says Cisco has also integrated the IoX technology into the firm’s integrated service routers that intend to support fog applications for the manufacturing, transportation and energy sectors.
Cisco also developed a suite of software and service offerings for organizations to analyze and integrate data across an enterprise network, the report said.
