Chris Chadwick, president and CEO of Boeing‘s defense, space and security business, believes industry must strive to address barriers to accelerating weapon innovation, he told Aviation Week in an interview published Thursday.
He added that companies need to understand customer needs and “show them the art of the possible from an innovation perspective,” according to Aviation Week.
During the interview, Chadwick pointed to Boeing’s Phantom Fusion software as a potential architecture to help developers update weapon systems within a short time.
Aviation Week reports the company launched a reorganization effort aimed to centralize the firm’s development programs and better manage its defense, space and commercial businesses.
Chadwick told the publication that he believes the initiative will transform “how we perform, how we innovate and how we deliver and support.”
