Unisys will establish a new facility in Augusta, Georgia, to provide information technology services to the company’s government and commercial clients.
The company plans to perform help desk support under a contract with the U.S. Army at the IT center and will collaborate with a Fort Gordon cyber hub to recruit IT talent, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal’s office said Monday.
“We look forward to having our new service personnel deliver the exceptional IT services that our clients around the world have come to expect from Unisys,” said Ron Frankenfield, president of Unisys’ enterprise services business.
Unisys expects to hire about 250 employees, including veterans, during the center’s first year of operations and create up to 700 total positions over five years for the IT facility.
The company works with public and private organizations to help them manage data centers, update enterprise applications and secure infrastructure.
