A BAE Systems subsidiary has signed an agreement to help the U.K.’s skills funding agency to implement a multi-sourcing framework for the agency’s information and communications technology infrastructure.
BAE Systems Applied Intelligence will serve as a service management and integration provider and be responsible for overseeing the delivery of ICT offerings to the U.K. skills funding organization and its end users, BAE said Thursday.
The agency sponsors vocational training and further education programs across the country and wants to move away from the sole-source procurement strategy.
“We will work with the agency to take advantage of the full range of opportunities presented by digital transformation, ultimately improving the service to citizens across the country,” said Julian Cracknell, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence managing director for U.K. services.
The BAE Systems unit also provides SMI services to the U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
According to BAE, the multi-source framework is intended to help government organizations reduce acquisition time and costs.
