Corporate Counsel has released a report that indicates salaries for general counsel increased by $701,001 in 2013, The Washington Post reported Sunday.
Catherine Ho writes the pay hike is a gain of 6.8 percent compared to a 7.4 percent year-over-year increase in 2012.
Corporate Counsel surveyed the pay packages of 100 highest-paid legal officers last year by merging the base salary, bonus and nonequity compensation rates, according to the report.
The Post reports Maryanne Lavan of Lockheed Martin and William Deckelman Jr. of Computer Sciences Corp. were among the four highest-paid general counsel in Washington, D.C.
Brackett Denniston III of General Electric was the highest-paid lawyer in 2013 with a take-home pay of $5.8 million, Ho reports.
