Northrop Grumman has awarded more than $14 million in subcontracts to Australia-based companies through a global supply chain program run by the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation.
To date, Northrop has collaborated with more than 15 Australian small and medium businesses to deliver cybersecurity, space research, logistics support work to government and military customers, Northrop said Sunday.
The U.S. contractor is currently looking for Australian suppliers to provide composites, machine parts, sheet metal and tubing materials for high-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial systems.
According to Northrop, the HALE program carries a total potential value of more than $115 million and calls for aircraft parts manufacturing and maintenance services.
Northrop also seeks to expand its market presence in Australia through its M5 Network Securities and Qantas Defense Services subsidiaries.
