Spirit AeroSystems Inc., announced yesterday that they have successfully reached the benchmark of delivering 5,000 Next-Generation 737 aircrafts to Boeing, a process long withstanding since their first delivery in 1998.
“Spirit is extremely proud of our partnership with Boeing and the work we do together to build the world’s best-selling airplane, the 737,” said Larry Lawson, Spirit AeroSystems president & CEO. “This is a significant milestone for Spirit and we look forward to building on this partnership.”
Spirit employs nearly 16,00 people globally building aerostructures, responsible for producing the forward section of every Boeing Commercial airplane, delivering up to 42 737s per month.
“Without the amazing efforts of our talented employees 5,000 deliveries would not have been possible,” said David Coleal, executive VP of Boeing Programs. “Our employees are customer-focused and take great pride in delivering a high quality product. We look forward to continuing to deliver this great product for many years to come.”
