CSC has opened a new security operations center in Sydney’s Macquarie Park to deliver IT security defense offerings supported by the company’s investment in HP‘s ArcSight security information and event management tool, CSO reported Tuesday.
David Braue writes the opening of CSC’s fifth global SOC site, located near its Australian office, also included screening potential members of the company’s strike force team of “white-hat” hackers.
“We want people who understand databases, applications, networks, and how to bypass security controls to provide that better level of assurance to clients,” said Gordon Archibald, CSC’s global portfolio executive for cybersecurity.
The team will collaborate with CSC’s other SOCs located in the U.S., India, Malaysia and the U.K. to exchange threat intelligence data, which Archibald noted is part of the company’s global security framework.
Braue reports CSC will leverage its ArcSight investment to monitor clients’ security controls and establish their risk and threat profiles.
“It has really been a journey around the architecture, integration of controls, threat intelligence, and bringing that into a centralised room and control centre,” Archibald said.
