Iridium Communications will continue providing satellite connectivity to SkyBitz in order to help the latter company’s customers track global assets and use asset information to make business decisions.
SkyBitz developed its SkyBitz as a Service offering to help clients eliminate requirements for owning and maintaining hardware, Iridium said Thursday.
“[SBS] can have a significant and positive impact on the bottom line of these businesses and enable them to accurately track assets no matter where they are located,” David Wigglesworth, Iridium’s vice president and general manager for the Americas and global machine-to-machine services.
Shawn Welsh, vice president of marketing and business development at SkyBitz, said his company aims to use Iridium’s satellite services to deliver global coverage and deploy SBS quickly.
SBS works to extract asset information and aid companies in managing their global asset fleets, Iridium says.
