Exelis Tech on Show at Special Ops Industry Forum; Andy Dunn Comments

Exelis-built technologies for special operations forces are on show at the ongoing 2014 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference in Florida.

The company aims to showcase systems designed to provide special operators with real-time situational awareness in order to remain ahead of potential threats, Exelis said Monday.

“As the tip of the spear in America’s armed forces, special operators are among the first to confront the shifting nature of military engagements,” said Andy Dunn, vice president of business development for the Exelis integrated electronic warfare systems business.

The technologies include platforms for critical networks, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, analytics and electronic warfare.

Exelis is showing the the AN/AAR-60(V)2 Missile Warning System that works to detect infrared-guided projectiles, Jagwire geospatial data tools for mission planning and a Radar Warning Locator airborne sensor.

Also on show is the communications tool SwitchplusIP, which aims to help reduce threat response times.

The three-day 2014 SOFIC ends on Thursday.
