Microsoft is helping government employees in North Carolina’s Mecklenburg County perform business transactions and public services with the company’s software suite, cloud and mobile offerings.
Mecklenburg County is using the Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Surface Pro devices and Windows Azure cloud platform, Microsoft said Wednesday.
The county’s Food Services Department uses Microsoft’s products for food and restaurant inspectors to run state applications and medical examiners use the company’s tablets to take notes.
Mecklenburg County’s parks and recreation personnel collect payments, book venues and connect with the county’s financial system via Microsoft’s Surface 2 devices.
The county plans to order more than 1,000 additional Surface Pro devices in August 2014.
