CobhamLogo1 - ExecutiveMosaicCobham will develop low-band transmitters for electronic jamming systems used by the U.S. Navy and Australian forces under a $21.8 million contract modification, Military & Aerospace Electronics reported Monday.

John Keller writes Cobham’s defense electronics segment will work to build antennas and adapter interface modules for the AN/ALQ-99 jamming system under the modification awarded by the Naval Air Systems Command.

The transmitter is designed to disrupt hostile radar and communications systems in order to protect warfighters, according to the report.

Production details include:

  • eight LBTs for the Navy and 11 for Australia
  • 11 vertically polarized antennas for the Navy and six for Australia
  • 17 horizontally polarized antennas for the Navy and seven for Australia
  • six adapter interface assemblies for Australia.
