CoStar Group has released new research that suggests a decline in government office space demand across the Washington D.C. area during the third quarter of 2013, the Washington Post reported Sunday.
Maeve Gallagher, real estate economist for CoStar, writes private sector demand for office space recorded a positive performance during that time period.
The government and private tenants have leased 150,000 and 240,000 square feet of space, respectively, in Tysons Corner during the 12 months ending in September 2013, according to the report.
The General Services Administration and private sector also took 180,000 and 1.5 million square feet, respectively, of the NoMa neighborhood in D.C. during that same period, the Post reports.
