L3Harris Lands $90M Air Force Delivery Order for ATLAS - top government contractors - best government contracting event

L3Harris Technologies has secured an $89.9 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for the delivery of the Advanced Tracking and Launch Analysis System, or ATLAS.

ATLAS Contract Specifications

The Department of Defense said Wednesday the cost-plus-fixed fee, cost delivery order covers the development, integration and delivery of mission thread software into the ATLAS system. The contract, awarded on Tuesday, aims to ensure the new software is stable, reliable and meets initial operational capability requirements.

L3Harris will work on the project in Colorado Springs, Colorado. and Chantilly, Virginia. This delivery order, a sole source acquisition, comes with a base period with two option periods. If the two option periods are exercised, the project will run through Oct. 31, 2027.

Space Systems Command at the Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, California will serve as the contracting activity. It will allocate $5.4 million from fiscal 2025, research, development, test and evaluation funds at time of award.

In 2022, L3Harris received a $49.7 million IDIQ contract from the Space Systems Command’s Space Command and Control program for astrometric tools necessary for the development of ATLAS.
