Comtech, a global technology company, has officially moved to its new corporate headquarters in Chandler, Arizona.

The relocation from Melville, New York to Comtech’s new HQ is part of its commitment to upgrade its corporate infrastructure and boost its culture of innovation, the company said Friday.

The new location has approximately 150,000 square feet of strategically used space. It houses office, engineering and manufacturing facilities designed to boost productivity by enhancing operations and facilitating collaboration. It is also intended to speed up the production of new technologies, systems and services and make them readily available to various customers worldwide.

Comtech chose Chandler mainly because the city is home to many of its major clients. The move would make it easier for the company to access a prominent technology corridor known for its talent pool, which aligns with its goal of providing reliable communication service to commercial and government customers worldwide.

John Ratigan, interim CEO of Comtech, expressed excitement over the relocation, citing the opportunity to expand in Arizona and take advantage of Chandler’s commitment to innovation.

“This strategic move marks a significant milestone for the company, and our new headquarters will play a central role in helping Comtech deliver new resilient, network agnostic, software-defined communications capabilities to some of the world’s most demanding customers, including the Department of Defense,” he said.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Aug. 16 and attended by prominent figures from the local government. Business and community leaders also graced the event. The decision to move was revealed back in March 2024.

Commenting on the move, Greg Stanton, representative for Arizona’s 4th District, said, “The investment Comtech is making in our community underscores the potential they see in our workforce, our infrastructure and our economic climate. With over 50 years of technology leadership across global satellite, space, terrestrial and wireless markets, Comtech is uniquely positioned to lead the way in connecting the unconnected and empowering the world with new technologies and services.”

Comtech has been operating in Arizona for more than 25 years, serving customers from commercial, defense and government sectors even before it unofficially opened its Chandler office in 2023. The company has also been active in the local community by engaging in partnerships, sponsorships and workforce development programs.
