Paul Smith, a Red Hat veteran and a three-time Wash100 awardee, has been appointed as acting CEO of Rancher Government Solutions.
He takes over the responsibilities of Lynne Chamberlain, who decided to retire after three years at the helm of RGS, the company said Thursday.
Smith spent 17 years at Red Hat, where he served as senior vice president and general manager of the company’s North American public sector.
He also served as a strategic adviser to technology companies, such as Amida Technology Solutions and Software AG Government Solutions.
Reston, Virginia-based RGS is an information technology consulting firm focused on helping the U.S. military and government agencies meet their operational and security requirements in relation to application modernization, Kubernetes and containers.
