AeroVironment has expanded its board of directors with the addition of Philip Davidson, a retired U.S. Navy admiral who has nearly four decades of military service and who was a commander of Indo-Pacific Command.
Davidson brings to AeroVironment board experience in leading INDOPACOM as its 25th commander and providing management, technical and strategic advisory as founder of Davidson Strategies, the Arlington, Virginia-based unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer said Monday.
“Davidson’s knowledge of battlefield operations, talent management, [Department of Defense] procurement processes and the deployment of new defense capabilities will bring a fresh perspective to our board and organization,” commented Wahid Nawabi, chairman, president and CEO of AeroVironment.
He added that the military veteran’s Pacific theater knowledge will help guide the company as it works to deliver customer requirements to domestic and international markets.
With the election of Davidson as a Class II director, the AeroVironment board now has seven directors.
