Booz Allen Hamilton has completed the Mansfield Rule: Legal Department Edition 2.0, a program for certifying companies that enforce workforce diversity.
The company said Monday its legal department worked for two years to get MRLD 2.0 certification, which was created and is supervised by business incubator Diversity Lab.
The lab established the Mansfield Rule in 2016 to encourage law firms to fill at least 30 percent of their staff with women and minorities. The rule’s latest edition requires the implementation of internal and external recruitment processes and monitoring to ensure that a broad pool of candidates are considered.
The Booz Allen unit joins 40 other legal departments that have received MRLD 2.0 certification this year.
“Participating in MRLD 2.0 has helped our legal department build and elevate our diverse talent pipeline across all levels,” said Josh Petty, general counsel for Booz Allen. “Representation matters, and we’re excited to show our dedication to that through our MRLD 2.0 certification.”
