USAF Grants Defcon AI Phase 2 SBIR Contract for Logistics Training Software Development - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Modeling and simulation software developer Defcon AI has received a $1.2 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to continue development of its operational mobility simulation platform.

The company said Friday the Phase II Small Business Innovation Research funding will be used to advance its training and rehearsal tool that simulates the Air Mobility Command’s operational logistics in the event of natural or adversarial disruptions.

According to Paul Selva, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Defcon AI and former AMC commander, the technology is envisioned to help prepare military personnel in managing supply chains in situations similar to the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, which presented obstacles to U.S. deployment and sustainment.

The software is designed with comparable replay scenarios and courses of action to help AMC planners choose the best operational decisions.

The contract was awarded under the Air Force AFWERX/Agility Prime program through Red Cell Partners, Defcon AI’s incubation firm.
