ExecutiveBiz: Congrats on becoming the President and CEO for IDEMIA NSS! What can you tell us about your experiences so far and how the return to the national security sector has gone? What do you hope to accomplish with the company?
Patrick Clancey: “The warm reception I received from the team and our customers upon returning to IDEMIA NSS made for a soft landing. Since January, I have relied on my relationships from nearly 10 years within IDEMIA and its predecessors to better leverage product capabilities available in our regional and global affiliates, while honoring the terms of our special security agreement.
The effect is enhanced efficiency and an expanded product offering, which will benefit our customers who rely on IDEMIA NSS to provide solutions and services as a foreign ownership, control, or influence mitigated entity.
My hope for IDEMIA NSS is to further cultivate the company as a most-desired place to grow your career and to continue bringing industry-leading innovation to our customer’s toughest identity challenges.”
ExecutiveBiz: With IDEMIA’s expertise in biometrics and access control capabilities, what can you tell us about the work the company is doing to support the latest initiatives from government agencies and how you’re utilizing a “privacy by design” mentality?
Patrick Clancey: “Our most recent wins continue to highlight our ability to combine core biometrics, enrollment and credentialing competencies to deliver digital identity innovation to emerging customer requirements or to enhance existing business processes.
The responsible design of our technology, whether in regard to privacy or inclusion, is fundamental to our character as a company.”
ExecutiveBiz: How is your organization implementing the latest training methods and processes with your workforce to address the challenges of technology implementation and driving solutions for your customers?
Patrick Clancey: “Along with many of our customers, IDEMIA NSS has adopted the Scaled Agile Framework to align our capabilities for max effect at the enterprise level.
Combined with our recent appraisal at Maturity Level 3 for Capability Maturity Model Integration Development and Services, we’re continually pushing ourselves to improve our operating and delivery competencies.
Finally, as part of our security and compliance culture we’re setting the conditions for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification 2.0 once finalized.”
ExecutiveBiz: What can you tell us about the company’s recent growth initiatives and how you’re driving value for your customers through contract awards, acquisitions and other aspects across the federal sector?
Patrick Clancey: “The entire IDEMIA NSS team continues to support the climb toward our growth targets. We’ve been successful in providing enhanced offerings largely through strategic R&D investments and partnerships that fuse our best-in-class products and domain subject matter expertise with partner services.
Further, we continue to create value for existing customers through our scalable capabilities which enable high return on investment and the insights necessary to plan, forecast, and operate to meet future needs.”
ExecutiveBiz: What are the core values that are important to your company’s culture? How has your team developed its workflow and the challenges to recruit and retain the best talent in the federal marketplace?
Patrick Clancey: “Within IDEMIA NSS, we align our vision to support the unique missions of our customers. Aligning our core values and familiarity with those customers, fosters a purpose-driven company culture, allowing us to focus and consistently present an authentic set of core values to our team.
The focus on mission is central to everything we do and enables us to retain and attract talent. Our recent recalibration of core values supports our retention objectives of creating an environment where everyone is fulfilled by their contribution and can grow both personally and professionally either in IDEMIA NSS or elsewhere within the IDEMIA global footprint.”
ExecutiveBiz: An important part of a company having strong business ethics in the federal sector is about helping and giving back to the greater community. Can you speak to the various charities and work with other organizations that your company does to make a difference and how people can get involved?
Patrick Clancey: “IDEMIA NSS has offices located in Morgantown, West Virginia and Alexandria, Virginia. To promote youth STEM activities, we support several organizations such as the Mountaineer Area Robotics Team 2614, an internationally recognized high school robotics team from Morgantown.
We also support equine-assisted therapy and events benefitting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and other memorial foundations. More broadly, we’ve also volunteered weekends at local homeless shelters, and organized food and supply donation drives in the winter for schools and organizations in our areas.
We’re proud of the communities where we live and work, the customers we serve, and the opportunities to support high-impact activities that give back.”
