CACI's Howard Porter: Contract Management System Key to Decision-Making Process - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Howard Porter, corporate director and senior vice president of contracts at CACI International, said the company’s contract management system has become a centralized platform for data that CACI uses to facilitate its decision-making processes, Federal News Network reported Thursday.

Our contract system is really the front-end system for our company,” said Porter. “It feeds our financial systems and other systems within the company. And it’s key for decisions that we make.”

Porter led the deployment of CACI’s contract management system, which he described as a “very robust” platform integrated with the company’s sales system.

It captures our key workflows, for example, our bid approval process, our conflict of interest screening, our risk assessment process,” he said of the contract management system.

Porter said there are three practices the contracts team should do as gatekeepers of data and to meet the needs of internal and external clients: maintaining good data hygiene; adopting artificial intelligence, robotic process automation and other technologies to manage repetitive tasks while allowing the team to focus on high-level work; and keeping users informed of regulatory and compliance information.
