The U.S. Space Force is soliciting industry insights on the draft master specifications for the Vandenberg Space Force Base’s Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements program.
The service plans to compete the SABER program as a single- or multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with firm-fixed-price task orders and as a set-aside effort for small vendors certified under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program, according to a request for information published Friday.
The SABER contract will have a base period of one year and four option years and is expected to have a ceiling value of between $30 million and $50 million with a guaranteed minimum contract amount of $2,000.
The contract will cover maintenance, alteration and repair of real property, limited design, fabrication, selection, modification, installation, tests on various interfacing equipment and facilities and other general construction work at VSFB in California and other locations in the state, including Pillar Point in San Mateo County, Santa Ynez Peak in Santa Barbara County and Anderson Peak in Monterey County.
Interested vendors should submit capability statements that provide details on their previous construction projects in the last three fiscal years.
The service branch will accept responses to the RFI through May 20.
