KBR has been selected by a Battelle-MRIGlobal partnership to assess project engineering designs and costs for a Department of Energy-funded research and development center for renewable energy technologies.
Houston-based KBR said it received a contract from the Alliance for Sustainable Energy to perform evaluation work on biorefinery and biofuel projects at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
The alliance runs NREL as part of a management and operating contract with the department's energy efficiency and renewable energy office.
Jay Ibrahim, president of KBR's sustainable technology solutions business, said the company will help the laboratory review alternative energy R&D projects that support national carbon footprint reduction goals.
