Perspecta’s research and engineering arm has received two contracts worth $8.1 million combined to provide prototyping support for the Department of Defense’s 5G testbed initiatives.
Perspecta Labs secured a 36-month, $5 million contract to provide an end-to-end logistics security platform to support a 5G-driven “smart warehouse” at Naval Base Coronado in California, Perspecta said Monday.
The tool is meant to provide additional internet of things features to the warehouse while helping advance the use of zero-trust concepts in 5G operations.
Perspecta Labs also secured a 39-month, $3.1 million contract to prototype a machine learning-based control system for spectrum sharing activities at Hill Air Force Base in Utah.
The company will work to help Air Force radars share spectrum access in the 3.1 to 3.45-gigahertz band.
Petros Mouchtaris, president of Perspecta Labs, said the team is looking forward to designing and deploying dual-use 5G technologies to support full-scale testing of the emerging technology at DOD locations.
Perspecta noted that it also secured subcontract awards in addition to the two contracts.
