The Department of Agriculture has awarded management consulting services company Riva Solutions a $49.5 million contract to perform technical development support for the Drupal open-source web platform to help the department modernize its web presence.
Riva said Tuesday the blanket purchase agreement will support USDA’s Departmental Administration Information Technology Office in efforts to streamline the department’s operations involving customer experience and assistance to agricultural workers.
The company noted that it plans to hire professionals to support work under the BPA which includes consolidating the department's workload and content management functions.
Raj Dasgupta, chief technical officer of Riva, said he expects the web modernization initiative to directly support agricultural producers, ranchers and farmers nationwide.
Riva is a Small Business Administration-certified 8(a) company that offers IT consulting, digital services, cloud support, cybersecurity, DevSecOps and data science to support clients in the defense, civilian, intelligence and homeland security sectors.
The company holds spots on contract vehicles such as the General Services Administration’s Multiple Award Schedule and the U.S. Navy’s Seaport-NexGen.
