Raytheon Technologies and a joint venture between Boeing and SparkCognition have partnered to combine their respective air traffic controller technologies in an effort to support the Federal Aviation Administration and its international counterparts.
Raytheon’s intelligence and space business will integrate its Multi-platform ATC Re-hosting Solution with SkyGrid’s AerialOS airspace management tool for drones as part of the agreement, Raytheon said Tuesday.
RI&S noted that it plans to build on its air traffic experience and leverage SkyGrid’s expertise in drone airspace management in line with the partnership.
MARS features an open-architecture framework and is designed to consolidate the functions of eight ATC workspace technologies.
AerialOS utilizes artificial intelligence and blockchain to support unmanned aircraft system traffic management.
Denis Donohue, vice president for communications and airspace management systems at RI&S, said the MARS platform is meant to help ATC personnel simplify the management of multiple data streams across disparate systems.
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid offers UAS-focused technologies for airspace awareness, flight operations and fleet management.
