The Federal Aviation Administration has selected eight companies to help develop requirements for future Remote Identification technology suppliers as part of FAA’s efforts to safely integrate unmanned aerial systems into the airspace.
Remote ID aims to allow drones to provide safety and security officials with identification information and location data while flying in the country’s airspace, FAA said Tuesday.
The selected firms are:
- Airbus
- AirMap
- Amazon
- Intel
- One Sky
- Skyward
- T-Mobile
- Wing
“The FAA will be able to advance the safe integration of drones into our nation’s airspace from these technology companies’ knowledge and expertise on remote identification,†said Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.
