Microsoft has launched an end-to-end program designed to help clients and partners serving as defense suppliers prepare for and facilitate their compliance with the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program.
The Microsoft CMMC acceleration program seeks to help DoD suppliers “improve their cybersecurity maturity, develop the cyber critical thinking skills essential to CMMC, and benefit from the compliance capabilities native to Azure and Azure Government,†Lily Kim, general manager of Azure Global at Microsoft, wrote in a blog entry posted Tuesday.
Kim said the program will also help customers address compliance gaps and enhance their cybersecurity posture and provide them access to learning resources and automated implementation platforms tailored to their CMMC certification journey.
Microsoft also expects CMMC to allow some reciprocity with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and other cybersecurity frameworks and will move to have its cloud offerings assessed and validated once certified third-party assessment organizations are accredited to kick off assessments.
