General Atomics Installs CAE’s Predator Mission Trainer at North Dakota Facility; Todd Probert Quoted

General Atomics’ aeronautical systems business has installed and started using the CAE-developed Predator Mission Trainer at its flight test and training center in North Dakota.

The Predator Mission Trainer is a zero-flight time simulator designed to provide aircraft sensor, initial qualification and mission-specific training and works to simulate General Atomics Aeronautical Systems’ Block 30 ground control station for the MQ-9 remotely piloted aircraft, CAE said Wednesday.

“The addition of a Predator Mission Trainer at GA-ASI’s training center in North Dakota extends our training collaboration and will enable GA-ASI to add more synthetic training to the syllabus used to train customer aircrews as well as their own instructor,” said Todd Probert, president of CAE’s defense and security group.

CAE will hand over the second Predator Mission Trainer unit to General Atomics by spring for installation at the latter’s Gray Butte Flight Operations Facility near Palmdale, Calif.
