Lockheed Martin has donated money to BMNT's nonprofit arm, The Common Mission Project, to support a university course designed to equip students with cyber skills to address national security threats.
Lockheed said Monday its corporate donation will aid Hacking for Defense program participants at University of Texas at Austin and Stanford University in 2020.
The National Security Innovation Network, a program office under the Pentagon's Defense Innovation Unit offers the H4D course to 24 university partners nationwide.
Chris Moran, vice president and general manager of Lockheed’s venture fund, said the company will contribute "aerospace knowledge and support needed to help students solve pressing national security challenges at startup speeds."
Alex Gallo, executive director of The Common Mission Project, noted that the donation could further drive adoption of disruptive technology within the department.
