Checkmarx has received a contract of an undisclosed value from the U.S. Air Force’s business and enterprise systems directorate to provide a technology platform designed to mitigate vulnerabilities in software.
The company said Monday it will help the BES organization implement the Software Security Platform as part of efforts to increase resiliency of applications against cyber risks earlier in the development process and prevent disruption to developer workflows.
According to Checkmarx, its platform will work to secure the military branch’s DevSecOps continuous integration and delivery pipeline as well as speed up software delivery.
The approach is designed to accelerate authority to operate and U.S. federal certification to field processes in line with the Air Force chief information officer’s Division 4 Fast Track ATOs.
USAF intends for the company-built platform to automate the security scanning across the CI/CD portfolio encompassing more than 100 projects and apps.
“The BES Directorate is a valued partner to Checkmarx and our expanded relationship will further support its mission as we work to make software security easier, faster, and more efficient for its unit and the broader U.S. government sector,†said Rich Wajsgras, vice president of Checkmarx’s federal business.
