Indonesian satellite firm Pasifik Satelit Nusantara has awarded Kratos Defense and Security Solutions a $5.7M contract to provide ground station monitoring technology to support the deployment of a very high-throughput satellite platform.
Kratos said Thursday it will deploy a unified management tool through a Network Operations Center to allow the satellite ground station to view analytics, trends and key performance indicators.
Additionally, the ground station will track 105 spot beams and 11 gateways to maintain optimal signal quality.
PSN plans to launch a VHTS platform in 2022 to enable internet speeds of 150 gigabits per second and provide broadband access to academic, health and government institutions in Indonesia.
“We look forward to working with PSN to support more customers, more capacity and more dynamic usage by enabling PSN’s operators to automate, scale and analyze operations with our end-to-end management platform,†said Phil Carrai, president at Kratos’ space, training and cybersecurity division.
