The Defense Security Service has awarded Peraton the James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award, citing excellence in security practices at a company facility in Greenbelt, Md.
Peraton said Thursday it is among the 51 facility operators that were recognized out of more than 13K cleared contractors.
“Recognition at this elite level is an honor, reaffirming our strong customer partnerships and acknowledging our dedication to the safety and security of our programs, facilities, and the people and information we protect,†said Stu Shea, chairman, president and CEO of Peraton and a 2019 Wash100 winner.
The company performs work under NASA’s Space Communications and Network Services contract at the facility that received sustained industrial security ratings.
Nominees for the award undergo two consecutive industrial security reviews and a national vetting process.
