Accurate Energetic Systems and Spectra Technologies have won spots on a potential five-year, $45M contract to supply the U.S. Army with explosive products.

Both companies will compete for task orders to manufacture plastic bonded N-9 and Trinitrotoluene explosives through the firm-fixed-price contract, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Army Contracting Command received four bids via the internet and will assign performance locations and obligate funds per order.

The Pentagon expects contract work to finish by March 6, 2024.

McEwen, Tenn.-based AES offers bulk explosives and energetic devices to the military, aerospace and commercial sectors.

Spectra Technologies is headquartered in East Camden, Ark., and sells ordnance, warhead, grenade, ammunition and demolition products.
