John Mogge, director of federal solutions and technology at Jacobs Engineering Group's buildings, infrastructure and advanced facilities business, has received the Gerald C. Brown Mentoring Award from the Society of Military Engineers.

The company said Monday SAME determines its award winners using five key practice-based criteria such as the individual's ability to serve as an advocate, a communicator and an adviser.

Mogge noted he aims to create value through discipline and sustainability principles.

“The principles that guide my creative thought around the possibilities of ‘what if’ include the notions of exceptional resource efficiency that must be balanced on focused client needs and a recognition that the economics of sustainability matter,” he added.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years before he joined Jacobs in 2001. The retired civil engineer colonel served as president of SAME and the society's National Foundation.
